The stages of hypnosis

Hypnosis is really many secrets behind the mystery, that the human mind has been released, and in fact there are a few steps you need to take into consideration.

Although many people believe that the mysterious forces to hypnotists, on a topic to enable and control all calls bids, but the truth is, a person has the means to separate this hypnotic state.

There are processes and diverse, but almost all hypnosis programs follow a similar pattern.

Hypnosis is basically divided into three phases, i.e., for therapeutic purposes, are the most common therapies and treatments adopted a series of problems, the habit, smoke, break therapy of pain and anger, the abuse of alcohol and drugs.

The initial or the first stage is known as trance, which is characterized as the hypnosis of the stage, where a subject is always the lightest aware, their surroundings and the environment.

This step is the most commonly used for the treatment of patients with behaviors that should be corrected as smoking and substance abuse.

The hypnotist may accept proposals submitted to this passage, but the subject is free to accept or not.

The next step is the alpha stage, control a deeper level of hypnosis, that commonly used to treat pain.

This is the phase and the pressure of the heart when a deep relaxation and breathing begins to decrease and speed is also the combination.

The third and final phase is deep under the hypnotic phases and is widely used by psychiatrists have access to intimate and profound thoughts where are stored the memories of past events and forgotten emotions in the subconscious.

It is the process more useful can psychiatrist for treatment of patients with severe psychological trauma.

If you could try hypnosis as therapy or treatment, here are some tips to consider hypnosis before the test.

First of all make sure that obtain a recognized and registered and licensed Hypnotherapist, perform treatments and therapies with the procedure, because it has a large number of questions and trade professionals sailed not authorized, which could cause more harm than good.

So it is better to deal with these individuals without scruples or parts.

Be sure to validate the credentials and details or information on their practices because we put all trust and unternhemenskritischen in them, if they try not to discover request fear in your mind.

Please note that hypnosis is not for everyone, especially with people, they are skeptical or subscribe works on the idea of hypnosis.

Hypnosis a State of mood and mental conditioning, it is likely that hypnosis will have on him and if someone puts full confidence in practice has not been determined or decided.

If a person go through hypnosis, but can a psychiatric condition or take drugs to suffer a mental problem must he or she hypnosis does not go through the process without authorization or approval of his psychiatrist.

Hypnosis is a critical and delicate process that has one licensed and experienced practitioner should be treated with caution.

And now, it might deliberately discover that different stages of hypnosis, which is the best for a given condition.

Suffering

Because the wisdom that is art to deal with suffering, begins with the desire to fight against the front: a) is our condition, we, sometimes heavily, or worse still, unsurpassed suffer rigorous.

(b) how is the richness of our nature, we can learn, happy or less quiet in this state of life. This means that we are pursuing goals that are not only desirable or Lord, but they are also viable or leaves us the inevitable.

No doubt many, whose suffering is suffering more problematic, his wisdom is still largely in the manufacturing sector. I remember my past as a young suicide, dark poems and unhappy. My negative attitude of my worse than the difficult situation, and I have not had any awareness of my capacity to improve. Today, I feel deeply connected with those in the limbo of darkness I live. Although my words reach only one of them, written not for nothing happened.
I recently found some dark poetry, reminiscent of the mine in my younger years. Author-Sprott-Melyssa g is a young talent, he was poisoned by his youth by abuse and other difficulties. His suffering and his talent have inspired me for some of his work to answer. Please note that my answer it in a positive way test my help of mentality, but can also see my answers in a spirit of humility. I propose a means; Try my best to give some useful information.

B. the following excerpts come from Melyssa collection of poems, entitled "Down in the Dark". Reveal its simplicity of soul sore and movement to a woman by her immense pain.

1 when he was six years old, my father, is not useful, convinced me that it was the air that breathe, the food that would have cost or other things that need.
When he was six years old, my father would be like children or desire to suffer the woman, he thought, so we had to lose my father.

"Don't forget to tell him you love him or he will die", the mother sings his song of cradle that twisted.
"You want to treat, praying for death, until the date on which ceases to breathe."
Waking in the morning to beat mindless 03 without prior notice.
"No matter how still you," mother sings to his twisted Nana.

I was still bleeding, bleeding, my sadness.
I can't stand the thought of tomorrow.
I hope that this nightmare to end.
I close my eyes to the world.
It was death begging since he was a child.

2. How can this damage lips trust come?

Throw words like stones.
My heart breaks the glass.

The key held the knife that rotate.

3. no place to hide in the darkness of the night.

Sometimes, it is the only consolation that we find in our pain.
You will never understand the tranquility to relinquish any control.

Courage to the less content to suffer.

Choose the way visited less love, joy and happiness.
I chose the way, and now I am stuck.

I am a prisoner of darkness, in my opinion.

B. action us facts are an integral part of life, not just mine but all Melyssa.

(a) learning potential of many small-scale human and is associated with the human potential for the back of the nobility and great achievements. Yes, people can be and are poor-spirited, intolerant and black heart, among other despicable sometimes grotesque. These signs are genetic and environmental factors that predispose people, but because of the people, free them rein at the end. What is regrettable is that these people are as a source of suffering, not only for themselves, but also for those who are at the mercy of them. The victims include children, women and elderly or disabled people. In fact, even the strongest men may suffer from a decline in prey for them. Others are more vulnerable, especially children who often make the terrible mistake accused of abuse or neglect that are exposed.

(b) how the rule aren't great or terrible. They are relatively easy to use and useful: If you treat you fairly - and live a decent, even if imperfect. This means that they have a mind of its own, which may not agree with their own. A man falls in love with a woman who cares not one iota or vice versa. A job seeker can equip, where it is, and they have rejected his appeal by employers of employment hope for some sees things from a different perspective. These two examples are among an infinite number of possible reference to the same truth: different and their wishes are often different and you have to put in danger then (respect) or to please refrain.

(c) on a positive note, it is human to a certain harmony between man and nature. Hard as life on Earth, Bloom or even available. This harmony, however, not the fact that the two have different purposes, always in danger. Consider only the number that show initiative and adaptability, in fact, they need to thrive. At best, the harmony is the birth and confined within narrow limits. They often also due to nature and human beings collide, as all kinds of ailments, disease and disaster. Ultimately, the relationship with nature is like having the relationship with wild animals, they have tamed. These pet animals is pleasant, as their needs are covered. But they turn against their owners, without apparent reason, unless they are actually Feral.

As already mentioned, the wisdom begins the provision to face the harsh reality of life in the head. It is the opposite of ignorance and therefore exclusive illusory happiness that accompanies this ignorance. If happiness is possible for wisdom, he has acquired the knowledge and acceptance of the fact in question. I do not think that any liabilities resigned to the status quo in their rigorous acceptance. I think that a courageous probably wrong good balance change our position in many ways. And improve what we're best, while making everything passes with him.

Easier said that do, of course. But then luck is that it isn't easy; It is, what is good and just and can only be made more meritorious efforts. Do or not do, is the question that summarizes human freedom. And, of course, no one in his never simple option right mind that brings the humiliation and suffering!

Think for yourself

Examine the three objectives of writing: inform, entertain and enlighten. For me, the second is low on the list, despite the fact that it is essential for the achievement of the other two. Every great master strictly white laces and easy their teachings with humor and stories interesting and relevant.

The first objective report, enters my mind, second with the last light, comes first. To explain my attitude, I think it is placed, I draw your attention to my book live is where both of these objectives.

In my book as relay or theoretical information about things specific human physiology, nutrition and universal evolution. These data refer to the current perception of reality in the scientific community. I am simply a vehicle for them. Now, for two reasons, my role as a writer, his readers about scientific facts and theories are informed second in my mind that my role as a philosopher, which strives to inform its readers.

The main reason is that I think the wisdom of the world largest, while knowledge of the material world (i.e., elements, structure and functioning) is also important, however, is useful, it is practice to a new level. Consciousness science, which in itself does not make the people with a sense of what is good, just preceding or Saint in a Word, is with moral principles. An example of science without conscience is the destruction of nature and the violation of human rights by companies in their use, either to satisfy the thieves of the improper use of their environment and their assistants for their greed.

My other reason is that, in fact, my role as a writer, that informs its readers about scientific facts and theories is a simple vehicle. It is a very minor role as a researcher, who led the company advanced scientific instrumentation and more shrewd intelligent scholar of observations and Rationalizations.

However, it is my role as a philosopher, dedicated his readers to inform the driver seat, to speak. Not only is everything, what makes life and gives a sense of people, but they reflect more light of wisdom; It is the power of thought generated on the basis of experience and studies.

Truth to tell my readers can think for themselves. Philosophers and you can create your own wisdom to identify and review from me. So the light shines through my book should help to see my readers, can meditate to form about their views on this question expressed a number of serious questions. And, as you can do, I would say that they should.

What good is the clergy sex abuse review boards? | National Catholic

In view of the historic criminal trial of church officials this year in Philadelphia and Kansas City, it is the question that requires a lot of Catholics.

The two trials are directors of the churches on the defensive for not using their lay review boards, which have been put in place by bishops of the U.S. in 2002, when they adopted the Charter for the Protection of children and young people and are designed to help the bishops to assess allegations of clergy sexual misconduct.

Yet, as now a Catholic to the United States report makes clear, the case of Kansas City and Philadelphia show a defect of the key: the value of advice is based entirely on how the bishops chose to use.

A reminder:

In Philadelphia, a grand jury report published last year (the third Government inquiry handling of the Archdiocese of abuse) found the Archdiocese had left 41 priests who had been accused of credible manner of abuse in the Department.

Yet, the President of the Board of review has written after the publication of the report that the Commission had seen only 10 cases involving priests in 2011.

A criminal trial of two priests in Philadelphia, the 2011 grand jury investigation is underway. The prosecution rested yesterday in the case of Monsignor William Lynn, a former Secretary of the clergy of the Archdiocese, and the first Director of Church to be charged to the cover-up of abuse.

In Kansas City, the Bishop and the diocese face separate criminal trials in September concerning the case of a priest of prosecutors say that the diocese knew took obscene photographs of children for at least six months before the representatives of the Church was reported to the police.

After arrest of priest, on charges of pornography involving children in May 2011, the head of the Kansas City Review Board said not responsible criminally the Council learned the charges against father Shawn Ratigan after hearing the news of his arrest reports.

"We have not been presented the case;" "We have not requested to consider the case," Jim Caccamo, who has since retired as head of the Commission, said at the time.

In today's report, American Catholic talks about Kathleen McChesney, the first head of the Office of the Bishops of the U.S. of the protection of children and young people, which has set up the following passage of the Charter of 2002.

In their report:

McChesney, a former FBI agent, says that the Councils work if the bishops - confidence and allow them to examine cases of abuse alleged with giving them all the information on the case as the diocese. "must be convinced the bishops what they should do that", she said. "The bishops have to say to their subordinates to do so."

Catholic to the United States also speaks of two bishops, members of the Commission of the Bishops of the national U.S. for cases of sexual abuse clergy and representatives of the network of survivors of those abused by priests on the system.

More analysis of McChesney:

[McChesney] says that the dioceses have been inconsistent in how they use the advice.

"I would say that 60 or 75 per cent of the dioceses have programs - but they always struggle," she said. "They have a handle on porn yet."

A meeting between the best experts on the last week of the clergy sexual abuse crisis held many similar conclusions. For more information on this, see the NCR report: Conference of California abuse focuses on the responsibility of the bishops.

Bound For America: after seven years of abuse, activist Chen

US Embassy Beijing Press Office / Handout / ReutersA handout photo from the U.S. Embassy Beijing Press office shows blind activist Chen Guangcheng speaking into a phone in Beijing, May 2, 2012

Throughout his 17 days of government-imposed isolation at a Beijing hospital, blind legal activist Chen Guangcheng has, with the exception of a brief confab with American diplomats, only had a cellphone as his link to the world. Seven long years of various forms of detention should have taken a greater toll. Yet each phone conversation we at TIME have had with him, Chen has surprised us with his calm, soft-spoken demeanor. But early on the afternoon on May 19, Chen’s voice changed. He was positively ecstatic, his excitement thrumming over the phone line. “I’m at the airport, and I’m going to the U.S.,” he told my colleague Chengcheng Jiang. “I’m standing in line and about to go through the security check.”

(MORE: Chen Guangcheng and Bo Xilai: Murder, Lies, Abuse of Power and Other Crimes of the Chinese Century)

A mundane chore like airport security must have felt like a benediction of sorts for a man who the Chinese authorities have taken great pains to confound for so long. In 2005, Chen drew the ire of officials in China’s eastern Shandong province for having the temerity to advocate on behalf of Chinese women who were subjected to forced abortions and sterilizations stemming from a misapplication of China’s one-child policy. Even in 2010, after he was released from jail on trumped-up charges of “disturbing traffic” and “destroying property,” Chen and his wife disappeared into house arrest in their stone farmhouse. The detention was illegal, but no one in either the local or central levels of Chinese government did anything to stop it. Diplomats, activists and journalists who tried to visit him were beaten back by plainclothes hooligans. Finally, on April 22, Chen chose the cover of night, when his blindness conferred a slight advantage, to sneak over walls and past a bevy of guards to freedom. The escape took hours before he met up with citizen activists who helped spirit him to Beijing, where he eventually sought protection from the American embassy. Staying there for six days, he rejected the possibility of asylum in the U.S. and instead emerged on May 2 from the Embassy, after being promised by the Chinese side that he would be treated as a normal citizen.

But upon checking in at Beijing’s Chaoyang Hospital, where he was treated for injuries sustained during his dramatic escape from house arrest, the lie in the government’s promise to treat him like a normal citizen was quickly exposed. Far from being allowed freedom, Chen was confined to his room, unable to even visit the hospital grounds. American diplomats found face-to-face access to him blocked. Foreign journalists who tried to visit him were warned that simply stepping foot in a major Beijing hospital would result in their visas being revoked.

Overwhelmed and aware of the tremendous pressure his family was under, Chen soon changed his mind about staying in China to continue his legal advocacy. After all, it was becoming clear that his chances of being allowed to truly effect change through the law were slim at best. So Chen voiced a desire to go to America to rest, telling a U.S. Congressional committee by phone that he hadn’t had a day off in seven years. New York University, where his longtime friend and supporter, Chinese legal expert Jerome Cohen, is based, ponied up with a fellowship. The Americans said a visa would be no problem. For their part, the Chinese were still insisting that Chen was being treated normally, even as he was held hostage in a hospital room. Chen—who had reunited with his wife and two children at Chaoyang Hospital—filled out passport applications and were told that they would be receiving the documents in 15 days’ time. But given the callousness with which he has been treated for long, it seemed foolhardy to take the Chinese side fully at its word, even as Chen himself told us that he believed he would be allowed to leave China.

(MORE: Team Chen Guangcheng: The Friends and Activists Now Also at Risk)

Indeed, the Chinese government appears to have left Chen in the dark until the last moment. In the late morning of May 19, Chaoyang Hospital staff suddenly came into his room and told him that he, his wife and their two young children should pack their bags immediately because they were going to the airport. Whisked into a car, they arrived at the Beijing airport utterly confused. Despite Chen being told that he was going to board a plane soon to America, he and his family still had no passports or visas in their hands. No Chinese officials were with them, nor were any American diplomats. Only staff from Chaoyang Hospital had come with them. “All I know is that they will send me to the plane soon,” he told TIME from the airport, soon after arriving. “And then I’ve been told that people from New York University will pick me up on the other end.”

A couple hours later, Chen and his family indeed boarded a direct flight to Newark airport, near New York. They were escorted onto the plane via a special vehicle that drove onto the tarmac and circumvented normal boarding procedures. The four family members are expected to arrive in the U.S. on Saturday early evening local time. “We’re relieved that the Chinese government has respected Chen Guangcheng’s wishes and his right to travel abroad,” says Phelim Kine, a senior Asia researcher at the New York-based NGO Human Rights Watch. “However, Chen’s departure for the U.S. does not and should not in any way mark a ‘mission accomplished’ moment for the U.S. government or any other government which values human rights and rule of law in China. The fact is that getting Chen Guangcheng and his family on a plane is the easiest part of this saga. The harder, longer term part is ensuring his right under international law to return to China when he sees fit.”

On May 18, the day before he made his way to the airport, I asked Chen by phone whether he thought he would be permitted to return to China after going abroad. After all, exiled Chinese who stand up to the government don’t tend to be allowed back home. The best outcome for a Chinese regime that flinches at outspoken criticism is that the wayward citizen ends up living an existence of irrelevant banishment. Chen answered my question with an explosion of laughter. Catching his breath, he said: “I think it’s too early to talk about that. I haven’t even left yet. The central government has promised me they will protect my rights and freedoms as a citizen. Traveling is one of my rights. So I think I’m free to travel between China and other countries.”

During his time at Chaoyang Hospital, Chen was forced to stay in his room, eating food delivered from the hospital canteen. (At the hospital, his wife, who had been under house arrest with him, was found to be suffering from severe malnutrition and anemia, a symptom of a life that Chen told us was “worse than that of a prisoner.”) But his children, one who was especially harassed back in Shandong, relished life at the Beijing hospital. “My kids said to me the other day, ‘Dad, it’s so great to be here,’” Chen said on May 18. “They said, ‘we can even go out to play for a little while in the yard.’ I felt so sad. You can see how much we were abused in our life in Shandong.”

(MORE: Isolated in a Beijing Hospital, Blind Legal Activist Chen Guangcheng Pleads to Leave China)

Back home, his mother is being confined to their farmhouse, which now has an electric fence being built around it. Chen’s nephew Chen Kegui is facing charges of attempted murder, after he slashed a knife at intruders in his home, who turned out to be local officials furious to discover that Chen had escaped house arrest. Two lawyers who traveled to Shandong to try to represent the nephew were told that he had given up his right to choose a lawyer. Chen thinks that’s ridiculous. “That was exactly what they did to me,” he said. “They forced me to take the lawyer they assigned.” Chen says a local official named Zhang Jian led a group of thugs into his nephew’s home in the middle of the night and beat Chen’s brother (who is Chen Kegui’s father). Then they began attacking Chen Kegui and his mother. “They beat him so badly that they even broke the sticks they were using as a weapon,” says Chen, after having spoken to his family back home. “It was under this situation that Kegui fought back. If he didn’t he would have been beaten to death. How can they accuse my nephew of murder?”

The central government has promised Chen that they will investigate the abuses in Shandong, both toward his family and those related to the forced abortion and sterilization campaign. Precedent suggests that full justice may not be meted out. After all, it’s impossible that the central government did not know about Chen’s plight for all those years, given the media coverage surrounding his case. Now, it appears they have done nothing to stop local officials from continuing to harass his family and prevent journalists from seeing them. But Chen on May 18 chose his words carefully: “I don’t have enough information to judge,” he said. “I was suffering from an extreme lack of information [under house arrest]. We can only judge something based on facts. I would rather believe that they didn’t know, but that they know now. As long as they are on the right track when it comes to my case, I will trust them.”

As he left his homeland, Chen may finally have cause for a modicum of trust. But the fate of his family back in Shandong is undecided. Punishment of the officials who oversaw his long detention is by no means guaranteed. And I’m certainly not convinced that Chen will be allowed back home after he goes abroad. Still, at least, a brave man who has suffered for years may be able to rest and enjoy a New York spring. When my colleague and I spoke to him earlier this month, Chen said that he had asked Chaoyang Hospital staff whether he could go outside for a little bit of sunshine. The hospital employees refused. For a man locked up for so long, the warmth of the sun on his face, even in a faraway land, will be a small miracle.

Vitals - Bleach abuse case spurs probe of docs who treated toddler

NBC News

Jennifer Lynn Mothershead, 29, of Buckley, Wash., remains jailed on charges of first-degree child abuse after doctors said she nearly blinded her toddler daughter by replacing the child's medical eyedrops with household bleach.

Seattle doctors who may have been slow to report abuse in a toddler whose mother allegedly put bleach in the child’s eyes -- nearly blinding her -- are under state investigation.

Officials at the Washington state Medical Quality Assurance Commission have filed a complaint and launched an inquiry into the care of the girl, now 2, at Seattle Children’s Hospital, a spokesman confirmed.

The girl, identified only as K.L.M., was treated for nearly two months for severe eye injuries in spring 2011, but only reported as a possible abuse victim after suffering a head injury that sent her to a trauma center.

Her mother, Jennifer Lynn Mothershead, 29, of Buckley, Wash., has been charged with first-degree child abuse linked to allegations that she substituted bleach in the child's medical eye drops and administered them repeatedly.

Internal commission staffers launched the probe this month after media coverage of the incident, said Donn Moyer, a state health department spokesman.

“We’re unable to comment beyond acknowledging that we’re investigating,” he said.

Officials at Seattle Children’s also declined to comment on the investigation.

Last month, msnbc.com reported that Dr. Avery H. Weiss, an ophthalmologist with the Roger Johnson Clinical Vision Laboratory at the hospital, said he suspected child abuse early in the weeks of treatment for unexplained eye damage and infections in March and April 2011.

“That’s why I put her in the hospital,” Weiss told msnbc.com in an April interview. He explained that the girl would improve under supervised care and then worsen when she returned to her mother.

But, he added, he wanted to make sure he was correct before alleging intentional harm.

“Before I say child abuse, I want incontrovertible evidence,” said Weiss, who specializes in treating children who have eye damage caused by shaken baby syndrome and other abuse.

By law, medical practitioners in Washington state are required to report child abuse or neglect “at the first opportunity,” or no later than 48 hours after there is “reasonable cause” to believe a child has been harmed. Failure to report child abuse is classified as a gross misdemeanor punishable by jail time or a fine, state statutes show.

But it wasn’t until May 12, 2011, that Weiss said he became certain. That day, the 14-month-old was flown to a nearby trauma center, Harborview Medical Center, with a subdural hematoma, or brain hemorrhage.

“That prompted the report,” he said.

On April 26, after a nearly year-long probe, Pierce county detectives arrested Mothershead. Court documents allege that she replaced the child’s eye drops with household bleach, then repeatedly “swaddled” the girl and forced the caustic substance into her eyes.

Investigators learned about the abuse only after confiscating the prescription eye drops. When the bottle was opened, a “noxious smell” filled the room, according to reports. Witnesses reported mild nausea.

“Of course we felt guilty,” Weiss told msnbc.com in the previous interview. “We knew from very early on that she had this. But we were reluctant to implicate the mother until we were 100 percent sure.”

Weiss recounted the case in an article in an April issue of a medical journal, where he acknowledged that medical staffers may have missed signs that the girl was being abused.

“After failing to respond to standard therapy, she was eventually identified as a victim of abuse,” Weiss and his co-authors wrote. “We discuss key findings that could have provoked earlier recognition.”

He said he wrote the report as a warning to other ophthalmologists that a chronic or unusual eye infection actually may be a sign of child abuse.

It’s not clear how long the investigation by the medical commission may take, said Moyer, the state health department spokesman.

Jennifer Mothershead remains lodged in the Pierce County jail, records showed. A second child born to her last August was placed in protective custody.

The toddler's father, Cody Mothershead, has custody of the child. The girl is expected to have permanent damage, including severe visual impairment, though not actual blindness.

"This child isn't going to be normal for the rest of her life," Weiss told msnbc.com.

Cody Mothershead is also a mandatory reporter because he’s a math teacher at White River High School in Buckley. But reports indicate that he saw the child infrequently, for only a few hours every week to 10 days, and that Jennifer Mothershead prevented him from giving the girl her eye drops.

Weiss said he believed that Cody Mothershead didn’t realize the girl was being abused.

Administrators in the White River School District apparently agree. On Thursday, district superintendent Tom Lockyer confirmed that Cody Mothershead remains in the classroom.

Msnbc.com writer Sevil Omer contributed to this report.

Differences in Treatment Outcome among Marijuana-Dependent Young Adults with and without Antisocial Personality Disorder.

Division of Substance Abuse, Yale University School of Medicine , New Haven, CT , USA.

Background: Few studies have addressed comorbid antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) and marijuana dependence in young adults, and results from previous studies are inconsistent. Objectives: This study evaluated differences in pretreatment characteristics and treatment outcomes between marijuana-dependent young adults with and without ASPD. Methods: Data for this study were derived from a randomized trial, in which marijuana-dependent young adults (n = 136) between 18 and 25 years of age were randomized to four behavioral conditions: (1) MET/CBT with CM, (2) MET/CBT without CM, (3) DC with CM, and (4) DC without CM. Results: Forty-four percent of the participants met DSM-IV-TR criteria for ASPD. ASPD clients had significantly more lifetime alcohol dependence disorders, marijuana use in the 28 days pretreatment, arrests, and assault and weapon charges compared to those without ASPD. ASPD clients did not differ in retention or substance use outcomes at 8 weeks posttreatment or the 6-month follow-up. In general, both groups had more attendance in the voucher condition, but there were no significant ASPD by treatment interactions. Conclusions: These data suggest that marijuana-dependent young adults with comorbid ASPD do not necessarily have poorer retention or substance use outcomes compared with marijuana-dependent young adults who do not have ASPD when treated in a well-defined behavioral therapy protocol. Scientific significance: Previous research has shown increased risks for clients with comorbid ASPD and marijuana dependence; however, our findings suggest that specialized programs for clients with ASPD may not be necessary if they are provided with empirically supported, structured treatments.

U.S. News - report: almost 10% of the inmates suffer from sexual abuse

Almost one in 10 prisoners suffer sexual abuse while incarcerated in prisons, local jails and treatment facilities after the release, according to a report released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The report, based on the first prisoners old national survey, includes 518 800 former prisoners who were under conditional supervision in mid-2008.

About 3.7% said that they were forced or pressure for having non-consensual sex with another inmate. Approximately 5.3% reported an incident involving staff of the institution.

Publication of the report coincides with the publication of the Ministry of Justice of the landmark federal standards to protect detainees in all federal, State and local facilities under the prison rape elimination of 2003 Act.

"For too long, sexual assaults on prisoners were not taken as seriously as sexual abuse outside the walls of the prison," the Justice Department said in a statement on standards. "In popular culture, prison rape is often the object of jokes;" in public discourse, it was sometimes dismissed by some as an inevitable - or even deserved - consequence of crime. »

A quarter of those who reported that they had suffered sexual contacts unwanted at the hands of other inmates, said that they had been physically held down or restricted and a quarter had been injured or physically injured. Nearly a quarter (23%) reported serious injuries, including anal/vaginal tearing (12%), chipped or lost teeth (12%), in being thrown unconscious (8%), internal injuries (6%), knife and stab, injuries (4%) or fractures (4%), according to the survey of former prisoners.

Although all sexual contact between staff and detainees is legally non-consensual, former prisoners said incidents were reluctant and some were "ready."

Most of the victims of the sexual misconduct of staff reported some type of constraint. Half said that they had been offered favours or special privileges and a third said that they had been spoken inside. About 7 to 8 in this category have reported only the authors of the opposite sex. More than three quarters of all acts of sexual misconduct reported personal involved a male detainee with female staff.

Rates of victimization by other inmates were reported by homosexuals (39%) and inmates male bisexual (34%) at the rate of about 10 times higher than those reported by heterosexual males (3.5%).

In other findings, the report said prisoners from two or more races (11.3%) and black Hispanics (6.5%) suffered a sexual victimization at rates higher than the held non-Hispanic whites (4.5%) and Hispanics (4%).

The investigation was part of the Bureau of Justice Statistics Prison rape National Programme of statistics, which collected records of reported sexual violence or allegations of sexual victimization directly from victims since 2004.

The new standards require an array of measures to prevent and handle sexual abuse involving prisoners, including additional staff, training, grievance, reporting systems, increased staff and video surveillance, invites the medical and psychological attention to victims and disciplinary action for staff or authors.

"The standards we set today take into account the fact that the crimes of sexual assault in correctional facilities can have devastating consequences - for the individual victims and communities beyond our prisons and prisons,"Attorney General Eric Holder, said in a press release.""

The standards will enter into force for federal facilities within 60 days. States that do not comply or demonstrate that they are trying to comply with the standards with the loss of relevant federal funding.

In the development of standards, Department of Justice was prohibited from placing an excessive financial burden on States. He collected the comments of the public and fought with representatives of States, a wide range of groups and other stakeholders, an official of the Ministry said, explaining why standards have been put in place nine years after the adoption of the Act.

"These standards are the result of a thoughtful and deliberate process - and represent a crucial step forward in protecting the rights and safety of all Americans,"holder said.""

National Secular Society - Cardinal covering violence and

Posted: Friday 18 may 2012 12: 13

In a speech to the Anglican cathedral of Leicester, the former head of Catholics in England and Wales, Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor, said that "secular values" behind the violence in the totalitarian States some of the conflicts of the 20th century that killed millions.

"Our danger in Britain today is that the so-called Western reason argues that it is the only recognized what is right and he claims therefore together what is contrary to freedom", he said. "Nobody is obliged to be a Christian." But no one should be obliged to live according to the new secular religion as if it only were final and binding for all humanity. »

He said: "the propaganda of secularism and its priests want us to believe that religion is dangerous to our health." It suits them to have no objection to their vision of a brave new world, the world they see somewhat governed only by people like them. They conveniently forget that secularism itself does not guarantee freedom, rationality … or violence. Indeed, in the last century, more violence was perpetrated by secular States on their own people. »

He said that a loss of "reverence" for humanity means that some of the most vulnerable people in society are now commonly considered a "problem" or the "threat".

Terry Sanderson, President of the National Secular Society, said: "Cardinal Murphy O'Connor is simply familiar echo of the Vatican and false line that"secularism"is the enemy of religion.". This is certainly the enemy of religion who seek power, as for the current version of the Vatican of Catholicism, but it confirms the rights of believers to practise their religion freely and without interference. His presentation of Christianity as being under attack is a familiar and yet completely little convincing. It is part of a campaign larger to reaffirm the Catholic influence. »

Mr. Sanderson continued: "Murphy O'Connor said that the high priests of secularism cannot guarantee freedom of violence or immorality."

"But we must never forget that Mr. Murphy O'Connor, himself is guilty of shamefully, covering part of the most horrific crimes of a paedophile priest when he was Archbishop of Arundel and Brighton - allowing the author to continue to abuse children in other parishes." Why Murphy O'Connor has never been justice on this remains a mystery. »

Concealment that occur when the scandals sex abuse threaten

"It is hard to believe that these stories were not studied for fear of upsetting Muslims;" much easier to believe as a reason to ignore their fear to give comfort to the extreme right. "Photography: Christopher Furlong/Getty Images

I've been brooding on two cover-ups of sexual abuse of children was discovered this week. The first is the reluctance of the English secular authorities to pursue the gangs involved in the abuse of girls; the second is the reluctance of the Office Irish authorities to continue or to expose the priests involved in the abuse of (mainly) boys.

The point is that it is very rare to meet people who think that none of the religious or cultural aspects are relevant in both cases. Probably a majority of people accuse the two cultures and consider all Catholic priests with the evils of some suspicion and all men of middle age Muslims as potential predators. Almost no one blame or - if you think that one of the disturbing things on the cases of Rochdale is that they will be used to galvanize opinion against Muslims, you are very probably see nothing wrong in blaming the Catholic Church as a whole for the Irish scandals. Conversely, people who try to defend the Catholic Church in Ireland will tend to see cases of Rochdale express something important on the culture behind them and religion too.

The same is true of concealment. Reliable observers in both cases detected a reluctance to prosecute on the part of the authorities that might have done. But people who think that political correctness is an absurd red herring in the history of Rochdale will be happy to assume the worst of the motivations of the Vatican, and those who believe that the Catholic Church is persecuted will assume no there was no valid reason for any reluctance to continue to Rochdale, Nottingham, or all the other places where it may be a password.

However, there are significant moral equivalencies between these cases and that the same kind of reasoning had in two cover-ups. In particular, the idea that the scandal is harmful and something to avoid is almost as strange that journalists like to pretend. It is not yet quite immoral.

There are of course totally wrong and dishonourable reasons to ignore rape. There are a few police officers, judges, prosecutors, bishops who despise the victims of rape, almost as much as rapists. Their behavior is inexcusable. But it is not the real problem. If bad decisions were never made by evil people, that the world would be much better that it is. We need to understand how good people can register for bad decisions. And here the reasoning of the avoidance of the scandal becomes really interesting.

Fight against racism has become one of the bearing contingencies of our society. It is one of the things that we believe is necessary for a decent life. We understand that racism is bad, even when it is not explicitly illegal. Fight against racism but is also under threat. Racists are there. They will take advantage of any drop in alertness. The EDL, the BNP and their supporters have demonstrated in several cities. They are certainly strong in places like Rochdale. The rape of mass of white girls by Muslim immigrants is a staple of the extreme right-wing propaganda in much of Europe. And it was one of the effects undeniable, unavoidable and quite predictable of the trial that these stories went into overdrive.

It is difficult to believe that these stories were not studied for fear of upsetting Muslims. much easier to believe as a reason to ignore their's afraid to give comfort to the extreme right.

Similar considerations are applied in Ireland. The Catholic Church was executed by people who believed that they were the custodians of the moral backbone of society. We can know that they have made a mistake, but it is impossible to understand without knowing what they meant it. Even the proposed as Irish constitution. At the same time, they knew that their church and their morality, had enemies who would be strengthened by a scandal. It is easy to see how this kind of reasoning can twist round to betray and to silence the victim appears to be the moral response of a crime.

It is asking to imagine instead of the victims. But it is a small contribution to hygiene moral to imagine how easily we could have been part of concealment, if our values that were threatened by a scandal.

Australia warns of 'bespoke' online child sex abuse

Australian police warned Thursday that paedophiles were using Internet live-streaming sites to order "bespoke" child sex crimes for real-time viewing, from countries including the Philippines.

Neil Gaughan, head of the Australian Federal Police's high-tech crime squad, said sites like Skype were being used to arrange "made-to-order" child abuse, where sex offenders could tailor sex crimes to their own viewing preferences.

"They make contact through online forums and the like, and they basically order a type of child abuse to take place in another country," Gaughan told The Australian newspaper.

"They facilitate a payment and then, while the person's sitting in the lounge watching on their Skype or whatever it may be, the child is being sexually assaulted the way they asked that child to be sexually assaulted, live-streamed."

According to the newspaper one Australian man has already been convicted over one such arrangement, based in the southern Philippines, and police were exploring whether any other Australians had been clients of the network.

Police accused the man of transferring several thousand dollars to the Philippines to pay for "bespoke" child abuse broadcasts. He was sentenced to seven years' jail last year but is appealing, The Australian said.

Gaughan said a police crackdown on pay-per-view child sex sites had prompted the shift to peer-to-peer sharing on sites like Skype, where abuse was "pretty much made-to-order".

Condemning the actions as "perverted", he said an abuser could make a request such as "a five-year-old boy and I want 'X' to happen to a five-year-old boy. That's what they're asking for and that's what they're getting".

Pathologist confirmed the girl died of sexual abuse. TopNews new

It was confirmed by South African pathologist Lorna Martin, that Charlene Makaza lost his life because of sexual abuse. Charlene, 10 and his sister Charmaine, were adopted by their uncle George Gwaze, 60, a former veterinarian, after the death of parents of children.

It has also been criticized that Gwaze killed him nice by choking her neck so that she cannot make noise at the time where he was sexually assaulted her. Martin told the High Court in Christchurch that she is an experienced pathologist who examined many many cases where women have been abused sexually.

It also showed reports to colleagues and it is clear that cuts, Charlene received on his anus is due to the penetration force Tower cylindrical object. Martin said that it is not dead because of infection by HIV, but cause of suffocation and blunt force trauma.

Her hymen is also broken and wounds around her vagina are clearly sexual abuse. "You cannot spontaneously break your skin or mucosa.". "It is completely typical of anal genital injuries I have seen in my career", said Martin.

Martin said she has seen exactly the same in the case of a young African southern girl, who lost his life for the same reason.
